Happy New Year

Most of America is now a feedlot

And I’m sick of scooping shit

Happy New Year

The arms manufacturers had record year

And even the Pope is upset

Happy New Year

I’m worried about catching bird flu from goose shit at the park

So I avoid the nice playground at the lake and now my two-year-old is disappointed

Happy New Year

I’m approaching 40 and suffer from low T

But still not balding

Happy New Year

My high school buddies are either dead or

born again conservatives

Happy New Year

Some of my favorite people are ageing boomers

Who have become more open minded with age

Happy New Year

My nephew is a wonderful young man

And gave Barrak Obama’s autobiography for Christmas

He is exceptionally bright and social

Happy New Year

My son and my nephew will transcend old ideas

Fascism sexism racism capitalism

My son who looks more like his mother

My son and my nephew

Each day making moral decisions in their schools and social lives

Avoiding all the traps and pitfalls

My wonderful son and his cousin helping each other

As age

Happy New Year

Our children and grandchildren will face the climate catastrophe head on

Mass extinctions addressed

Adapting their lifestyles diets and routines

Our current social structure

Religions

And culture absurd to them

Absurd fossils

Happy New Year

Our descendants all transcending into something so foreign and beautiful

Our current lives will be laughable
